Traffic to ELLEDecor.com more than doubled under Jessica's editorial direction, which included editing, writing, and managing a stable of freelance contributors, an in-house team, the site's editorial calendar, and budget.
One highlight of Jessica's creative approach: Creating capsule editorial lineups around entertaining, weddings, and Francophilia. These content packages included commissioned work like a gallery for “Party Week," featuring place settings inspired by each sign of the zodiac.
Oversaw the creation of an editorial hub for the newly-launched paint brand Clare. Assembling a roster of freelance writers and creating a lineup of content that helped service customers and establish Clare as an authority on all things home.
As the founding lifestyle editor of Huff Post’s Black Voices vertical, Jessica created a robust editorial calendar of long- and short-term site programming, populating the “Life” and “Money” sections with original and aggregated content on home, health, food, family, travel and personal finance.
Jessica later took over HuffPost’s Home vertical, devising strategy, writing and editing all of the site’s shelter content, managing contributors, overseeing syndication efforts, and working with the ad sales team to deliver on sponsorship commitments. Traffic reached 4.2 million unique visitors each month on Jessica’s watch, with a sometimes irreverent take on home design, including this video roundup of commonly mispronounced decorating terms.
